How is it "hate speech" is not protected by the First Amendment?
Either we have the right to freely express ourselves, or we do not.
If the government can restrict the free exercise of our freedom of speech, because some speech offends a certain group of people, why wouldn't the government expect that We, The People, would also stand by complacent, compliant, and uncomplaining while it places restrictions on the free exercise of our freedom of religion, or while it restricts the free exercise of any of the other rights enumerated in our Bill of Rights?
You see, all these politically correct calls for restricting free speech will end up with restrictions on all your other natural rights and soon you will be allowed to exercise no rights at all. Just as both federal and state governments are already restricting the free exercise of our Second Amendment rights and this has led many people to think and defend the (false) premise that it is legitimate to restrict free speech; restricting the free exercise of ANY natural right has a detrimental snowball effect upon ALL our rights.
Liberty calls for you to defend her.
Will you heed her call?
